Meriden-Markham airport was the host of the first annual "Run The Runway" 5K road race on March 36. Runners started on the runway, ran the length of it, then back up the taxiway before exiting the airport and running a course through South Meriden. They reversed the course upon arriving back to the airport crossing the finish line at the head of the runway. EAA Chapter 27 displayed a few planes, answered questions, and provided labor to help with the event. It was a great success and has received some good press.
